Kerry Dean has written this article. More details coming soon.
If you are an avid reader of this blog, then you remember my post about the new gTLD’s that are launching in the next couple of years. There are over 600 of them. It’s actually hard to avoid them nowadays. I’m even starting to see them in the organic listings.
Here is a listing for a .agency gTLD site showing up in position 3 in Google for a search on ‘organic search agency’:
OrganicSearch.agency – a .agency gTLD ranking in the top 3
Here’s a listing for a .guru gTLD site that is ranking in position 6 in Google for a search on ‘edmonton seo guru’:
seo.guru – a .guru gTLD ranking in the top 10 on Google
As a domainer myself, I’m been waiting for these new gTLD’s to start ranking. I think it’s pretty exciting. I have also been wondering how Google was going to treat keywords on the right side of the dot. It turns out that these new gTLD’s are getting the vintage #ExactMatchDomain treatment. That’s definitely makes this a talking point. It may not last, but it’s certainly happening right now.
