Straight Outta Somewhere Campaign Wins Top Prize at Facebook Awards

Beats by Dre won the top prize in this year’s Facebook Awards global competition for the groundbreaking Straight Outta Somewhere campaign. A collaborative effort between the brand, PMG, and other agency partners like R/GA and OMD, #StraightOutta was the only campaign in the world to win the prestigious Blue Award.

The annual competition celebrates the best creative work on Facebook and Instagram, and #StraightOutta was recognized for its use of the social networks as part of a larger, overall media mix. In total, over 2,700 entries were submitted from 160 countries.

“We’re so proud of all of the honors and accolades that #StraightOutta has received,” said George Popstefanov, founder and CEO of PMG. He added, “This campaign perfectly illustrates what’s possible when multiple partners collaborate with a strong, singular goal in mind, and have the backing of a dynamic and ambitious brand.”

Winning top honors at the Facebook Awards is even more impressive this year, as the competition went with a global bracket system for the first time ever. Juries in North America, APAC, Latin America and EMEA allowed entries from those regions to be judged based on regional context. After regional winners were selected, global winners were chosen by Facebook’s Creative Panel.
