Google Express Launches in Texas
Starting June 1, Google expanded it’s speedy on-demand delivery service Google Express to Texas.
Currently, shoppers in Dallas, Houston, and Austin areas can now take advantage of overnight delivery from the following merchants:
Barnes & Noble
Costco
PetSmart
Walgreens
Whole Foods Market
Additionally, Google Express also offers two-day delivery through these merchants:
Fry’s
Guitar Center
L’Occitane
Ulta
Vitamin Shop
Moosejaw
Sur La Table
Ace Hardware
Kohl’s
Treasure Island Foods
Roadrunner Sports
Bed Bath & Beyond
buybuy Baby.
We noticed these Google Express listings showing up in the Product Ads (PLA) section of the search results pages. Notice that in the outlined listing, the merchant appears as ‘Google Express’:
Google Express
Additional DetailsMembers of Google Express pay either $95 for the year or $10 per month. For non-members, delivery starts at $4.99 per store. This appears to be a move by Google to use Google Express as a way to compete with Amazon and other online shopping sites that offer similar same-day delivery services. If you were wondering how/when/if Google would respond to other same-day shipping services, such as Amazon Prime, look no further than Google Express.
